How to Travel On Char Dham Yatra? Char Dham Yatra Route Map According to Hindu belief, one should always travel in a clockwise direction. The pilgrimage journey always commences from west and goes to east. Therefore the holy Char Dham Yatra starts off from Yamunotri, and goes to Gangotri followed by Kedarnath and finally ending at Badrinath. It is always best to start travelling from Haridwar as Haridwar is well connected to all the Char Dhams. However, this route got wholly washed away by the Kedarnath floods of 2013 leaving no scope for its repair. Thus a new Kedarnath trek route was constructed by NIM-Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. This trek route is of 15-16 kms and travels in Linchauli. Trekkers witness the beautiful view of Mandakini valley and Chaukhamba Peak.
